He is is over 18 ft tall,she is over 17 ft tall


They are Fertitlity statues, from the island of Java


They were obtained from a village in the 1930's in Java,they were then stored for over 50 years in a warehouse and exported to Australia ,they have never been outside other than to take these pictures !


They are carved from near extinct black teak trees,they are in 2 parts and they join in the centre and take 4 or more strong men to carry them,the arms are separate pieces and are pinned at the shoulders,the workmanship and carving is absolutely incredible


There is also beautiful carvings on the arms and legs of the native animals etc
