What you'll be doing
The Western Sydney Local Health District's Medical Imaging service is committed to providing quality diagnostic and interventional care to each individual with the state of the art facilities and techniques available.

The primary role of the Sonographer within the Medical Imaging Department is to provide high quality diagnostic medical ultrasound imaging. There must be a demonstrated ability to perform complex clinical procedures with a high degree of competency.

To perform other clinical duties as requested by the Chief MRS and participate in shift and on call rostering as necessary.

To work under the direction of the Director of Medical Imaging and the Chief MRS in being able to perform a range of diagnostic imaging examinations to a consistently high standard, using a patient focused approach, in adherence to established procedures.

Essential Criteria:

Qualification: Medical Sonography
Registration: Medical Radiation Practitioner and/or ASAR

Selection Criteria:
Bachelor of Medical Sonography / Graduate Diploma in Sonography, or equivalent, ASAR Accreditation.
Demonstrate a high level of competency and a consistently high standard of clinical practice & decision making in Ultrasound.
Demonstrated proven ability to work effectively in in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Proven communication and interpersonal skills, both written and spoken, to interact with patients, carers and professional colleagues
Have an understanding of procedures and protocols and relevant legislation related to disinfection policies and guidelines both internal to NSW Health, also but not limited to "AS NZS 4187 2014 Reprocessing of Reusable medical devices".
