Job Summary: Cairns QLD Contract Smithfield Central Doctors is a well-established practice located in Cairns QLD, which has developed a sound reputation for providing professional health care services to the local community.

Job Details: We are expanding our Psychology team and are seeking an experienced self-motivated fully registered Psychologist as a Contractor to join our busy practice; days and hours negotiable. The position is supported by administrative services including fully computerised client bookings, invoicing, internet access and onsite parking.

As an integral member of our experienced multidisciplinary health care team, you will apply a range of psychological therapies and interventions to assist our clients with managing their mental health and in improving their quality of life.

Responsibilities
Deliver competent psychological services in accordance with the Professional Practice Standards and code of ethics.
Exercise sound judgment and decision making in relation to the day-to-day provision of services.
Provide consultation, evaluation and diagnosis of patient’s specific issues (e.g. mental, behavioural or emotional disorders).
Develop tailored treatment plans and utilising evidenced-based interventions.
Monitor and evaluate the patient’s progress and modify programs to maximise the outcome.
Liaise with the Practice’s General Practitioners regarding patient progress and to facilitate the provision of coordinated clinical care and treatment for referred clients.
Medicare funded psychology consultations and Government contracted psychology sessions.
Private funded work including Employee Assistance Program (EAP) sessions.
Recognise and uphold the rights of all clients accessing services, including maintaining cultural sensitivity.
Operate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and ensuring an environment that encourages teamwork, personal and professional development, customer service and excellence in performance.
Comply with privacy and confidentiality principles to all work practices including the Practice’s and Fullerton Health Australia policies and procedures.
Requirements
Current AHPRA registration as a Psychologist.
Current membership with the Australian Psychological Society (well regarded).
Current Australian drivers licence (clean).
Current National Police Check.
ABN for service agreement.
Professional indemnity insurance.
Effective skills in listening, providing advice and professional opinion to individuals, groups and communities on disorders.
Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients to achieve goals through influence.
Socially perceptive; aware of reactions of others and understanding of those reactions.
Ability to deliver services in a manner consistent with the requirements of the client and/or the service agreement between Practice and the client.
Basic/Intermediate computer skills.
