Jack Engineeringis currently seeking eager, hard working and hands On Site Structural Steel Installersto join our dedicated team based in Hastings.

Jack Engineering is a family owned structural steel fabrication company based on the Mornington Peninsulawith 25 years’ experience specialising in bespoke projects for residential and commercial builds. We work with a number of long standing local builders, along with high end Melbourne based construction companies, with our core business in fabrication and erection of structural steel, within residential and commercial type builds.

Reporting to our Senior Site Manager and Operations Manager, you will be working with our on site instillation teams, bringing a hands on approach to your work in completing daily assigned tasks.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Strong communication skills
Strong and clear problem solving skills
Be willing and able to work overtime at short notice
Be willing and able to work weekends as required
Clean driver’s license and the ability to pass a drug test, if requested
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Perform assigned duties in a timely and safe efficient and cost-effective manner
Follow all OH&S guidelines, policies and procedures
Carry out the installation of structural steel on site in an operational capacity
Ensure all work is carried out to the quality and specification requirements
Use problem solving skills and read fabrication drawings
Be able to work overtime at short notice as required
Be willing to work in various weather conditions
Be willing to travel for work to various sites (in company transport)
This role will primarily be based on site working with the installation teams, however there will be occasions where you will be required to work with the fabrication teams in the factories, based on business demand.

The ideal candidate will possess the below:

Certificate III in Engineering - Heavy Fabrication (or equivalent trade qualification)
Truck license / MR license (or be willing and able to obtain through course)
EWP and basic Dogging ticket
Basic Rigging ticket (or be willing and able to obtain through course)
Valid White Card/Red Card/Construction card
Previous welding experience essential - the ability to pass a weld test to AS1554 standard – MIG and Stick
Forklift license (not essential)
Clean drivers license
NOTE: A National Police Check and Working with Children Check will be required for all successful candidates
