About the role



The opportunity for a National Procurement Manager, Australia based in Sydney CBD is available.



Reporting to the Regional Head of Procurement, the role is responsible for total addressable spend with a particular focus on indirect costs.



Key responsibilities




  • Manage Procurement in Australia, delivering savings and building relationships with the right suppliers for the businesses in the region

  • Contribute to synergies for the benefit of the Australian/Regional business units

  • Take ownership of driving Procurement as a service to the business.

  • Lead a small team ensuring that goals and directives for the region are aligned.



Requirements



This role has a regional dimension, with a simultaneous focus on collaboration with the Global Procurement group.




  • Masters or Degree in Procurement / Professional Certification such as CPM/ CIPS

  • Experience and background managing procurement in a complex, large and multi-cultural organisation, ideally in a manufacturing/ industrial environment.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, demonstrating a proven track record of delivering large savings over a broad range of products and services.

  • Ability to influence and promote procurement's value and to run procurement as a professional services business.

  • Willing to travel nationally up to 20%

  • In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles.

  • Effective leadership and influencing skills - Proven credibility drawn from previous experience working with Local & Regional Management Teams.

  • Highly developed negotiation skills.



This is an excellent challenging opportunity for an experienced Procurement professional to lead Procurement in Australia as part of an established Global Procurement team. The successful candidate will be hands on, have the ability to identify opportunities for this business, customer service focused and able to mentor and develop a small team.
