Job Summary: GRDC is changing to meet the evolving needs of grain growers with a vision to be regarded as the grower’s “R&D department”. These roles are critical in GRDC’s aim to create enduring profitability for Australian growers. GRDC believes it should be a valued grower asset that is open, transparent and trusted - a true research partner who seeks to be agile and business like in their operations.

Job Details:

These roles will work closely with grain growers to fundamentally understand their primary research issues, working closely within GRDC and externally with research providers to determine and facilitate the best research outcomes for growers.  This involves planning, procuring, managing and monitoring sound grower extension investments, including events and activities to enhance the adoption of research findings on-farm which focus on grower profitability.



It is critical that the Manager Grower Relations builds durable relationships with innovators and levy payers, consultants and industry. These roles will suit candidates with a strong understanding and interest in R&D outcomes for grain growers, and focus on understanding what the broader industry and regional issues are.



Ideally, the successful candidate will have the following attributes;




  • Demonstrated minimum 5 years sound knowledge and related industry experience in seeds, fertiliser or crop protection in a commercial, technical or marketing role

  • A degree in Business, Agricultural Science or equivalent

  • Demonstrated experience in project management and facilitation with multiple stakeholders

  • Proven understanding of commercial principles including finance, brand management, and ideally commercial licensing

  • Highly developed presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence, motivate and develop others

  • Strong analytical skills and the capacity to leverage off external expertise and think strategically, including the ability to provide sound project and issue advice

  • Must have a valid Australian Drivers Licence

  • Australian Citizenship is a requirement
