About the opportunity
The Magistrates Early Referral Into Treatment (MERIT) Caseworker/Clincian will provide assessment, intensive case management, support, counselling and treatment to defendants with a drug and/ or alcohol issue, who have current legal matters in a Local MERIT Court and MERIT treatment area.

Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol Services – Bloomfield Campus, Orange, a part of the Western NSW Local Health District.

To apply for this position, please address the following Selection Criteria
Relevant tertiary qualification in Health, Social or Behavioural Sciences, and/ or experience.
Demonstrated experience in case management and case review practices in drug and alcohol.
Demonstrated high level of organisational skills and ability to provide attention to detail.
Demonstrated or knowledge of, to prepare concise written legal reports within a specified timeframe.
Proven ability to function effectively in a member of a multidisciplinary team environment and to work in a professional manner unsupervised.
Demonstrated effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, with ability to liaise and network with a range of services.
Demonstrated ability to operate in a computerised environment, and knowledge of electronic information systems.
Current licence to drive in NSW with the ability to drive for work purposes, including occasional overnight stays.
