Job Summary: We are seeking expressions of interest for an ambitious Laboratory Technician to join our Northern Water Treatment Plant Team at Wandoan in the Western Downs Region. Reporting to the Plant Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of laboratory functions for the Water Treatment Plants and associate infrastructure.

Job Details: Key Responsibilities



Ensure all sampling, testing and analysis is conducted safely and accurately to maintain consistent water quality.
Prepare reagents and standards for laboratory testing and on-line analysers.
Comply with appropriate sampling techniques, implementation of correct sample storage and preservation methods.
Conduct audits and maintenance of laboratory work instructions.
Maintain high level of laboratory occupational health and safety.
Facilitate the delivery of external laboratory contracts, including the receipt of results within required timeframes.
Stock-takes and procurement of goods and services to maintain laboratory functions.
Provide training and mentor staff in regards to correct sampling and laboratory technique, laboratory safety and data management.
Conduct routine risk assessment in all aspects of sampling, testing and laboratory analysis .
