Job Summary: We are a locally owned and proudly independent newspaper on the Atherton Tablelands. This was established in 2010 and in just a few short years we have established ourselves as leaders in our field of news and local events coverage and as the local newspaper locals prefer.

Job Details: Maintain through knowledge of interviewing techniques.
Take necessary steps to ensure maximum client and reader satisfaction.
Take on other duties as instructed by the Director.
Demonstrate a sound understanding of newspaper readership and how it affects the region.
In consultation with the Director, proactively source story opportunities, promote editorial initiatives, formulate creative solutions.
Monitor market trends and competitor products in order to identify business opportunities.
Maintain up to date industry and product knowledge.
Answer incoming telephone calls and take/forward messages.
Write articles that comment on or interpret news events and that may put forward a point of view on behalf of the publication.
Assess the suitability of reports and articles for publication, within an established style and format, and edit as necessary.
Gather news, photographs and information by interviewing people and attending events.
