About the opportunity
The Health & Security Assistant is responsible completing cleaning tasks, conducting lock down checks and providing security for staff and patients as required. On the job orientation and training will be provided. The role involves significant initial and ongoing mandatory training requirements both online and face to face. The role will form part of a large team of Patient Support Services staff.
Typically the shift requiring leave relief is a 10 hour night shift commencing at 20:00 and finishing at 06:30 the following morning. The shift involves cleaning of areas that are best able to be cleaned during the night hours. The shift is responsible for lock down check and providing security as required.
The Health and Security Assistant role sits in the dept. of Patient Support Services and is responsible for the Cleaning of the facility, catering to all patients.
Lachlan Health Service is located in the central West of NSW and comprises two small procedural facilities at Forbes and Parkes. Forbes and Parkes are both strategically located within five hours of Sydney and three hours of Canberra. Ideally situated along the Newell Highway, Australia’s major inland touring route, where it intersects with essential rail corridors.

Current NSW Security Industries License 1A, in accordance with the Security Industry Act, 1997; nationally recognised current First Aid Certificate or Statement of Attainment from a Registered Training Organisation.
Previous experience working in a company or organisation undertaking commercial cleaning or providing general assistance or a similar role.
Experience working and communicating with people, having a friendly and respectful approach to people from all backgrounds.
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and take directions from supervisor.
Ability and willingness to work shifts, on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
Current licence to drive in NSW with the ability to drive for work purposes.
