Their member base is comprised of emergency services workers, teachers and other public servants serving the Victorian community. ESSSuper is at a pivotal moment in its evolution as a fund. It has recently embarked upon a process which will lead to the transition to a new operating model featuring the provision of core superannuation administration services via a partner organisation.
Job Details:
As General Manager Operations you will be central to this change, safely guiding the team, ensuring continuity of outstanding service to members and working with the Executive to challenge thinking, drive innovation and deliver to our members a service model that meets their immediate and future needs. Against this backdrop you will:
- Lead the Operations Division, ensuring it supports people in adapting to the changing environment whilst engendering employee engagement;
- Deliver significant strategic business transformation to improve operational and member focused performance;
- Provide leadership and direction to the operations management team, developing a cohesion which provides high standards of service to members and other stakeholders;
- Champion change while ensuring that the journey towards the future state features a pace and sequencing of events that protects BAU and the quality and availability of services to members;
- Foster collaborative relationships with the Executive and the wider organisation; and
- Drive appropriate investment in people, systems and processes to support the retention of knowledge and the development of the capabilities required to transform successfully and to operate effectively under the new operating model.
About you
A caring, empathetic and pragmatic leader, you will be someone who:
- Has Executive level experience in an operational leadership position in superannuation or financial services setting;
- Possesses the ability to create a vision for change and engage others to implement the change process by employing a range of practices that create an environment that values diversity, promotes inclusion of all employees, and leverages the talents of all team members;
- Is experienced in leading a business through change and transformation;
- Has the ability to initiate, propose and support major change that aligns delivery and execution with business vision, strategy and goals;
- A track record of delivering a superior service through leading and managing in an operations/technical environment; and
- Role models and enables positive culture and an energetic working environment.
