Remuneration at HEW 6 ($78,632 - $85,116) + 17% superannuation
Position Summary
As the Food Process Engineer/Technologist, you provide:
Efficient & day-to-day technical support within the Process Chemistry team for Pilot Plant, Research and operational laboratories
Work collaboratively with the Food Process Engineer at the Pilot plant in maintaining, functioning, servicing and cleaning of the equipment according to the GMP standards
Assist, support and coordinate the pilot facilities operation, facilities and all activities in the research laboratories including undergraduate, post graduate and external stakeholders
Roles and Responsibilities
Investigate and resolve product and process related issues in an efficient and thorough manner in operational areas
Oversee and assist in providing technical support for processes related to equipment, for the pilot plant and other operational areas
Implement and maintain of new and existing equipment and processes for all operational areas
Implement and create documentation such as maintenance records, training documents, log sheets in order to maintain consistency in the service operation for all operational areas
Pro-actively finding solutions and involve in the troubleshooting the failure of the equipment and to ensure the fault attended to, repair and maintained
Commissioning of equipment in the pilot plant and all other operational areas
Provide support in Learning & Teaching and research activities and other operational areas
Ensure all laboratory works are performed following laboratory policies and RMIT policies and procedures as well as any legislative requirements
Skills and Experience Required
Degree qualified in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or Food Technology or related areas with experiences working in food manufacturing, process improvement or pilot plant
Sounds working knowledge and experience in operating and maintaining food manufacturing equipment as well as accuracy in gathering and recording information
Capability and the capacity to trouble shoot and finding the source of failures in the food equipment and processes
Strong verbal and written communications skills equipped producing high-quality writing in OH&S and compliance documentation
Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently working autonomously and in teams as well as sound analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong work ethics with the ability to provide high level of professionalism to deliver innovative and creative solutions
Passion and ability to build strong relationships across all levels of professional staff within the organisation, a drive for pursuing best practice
