We arrange the provision of an extensive range of aged support and disability services for people in their private home and community.

Support Workers are supported by Southern Cross' skilled Service and Admin team.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
DESCRIPTION:
Disability Support Worker
Blakehurst NSW
Southern Cross is seeking motivated, caring and committed individuals as Disability Support Workers to provide care and support to a 76yrs old male with a spinal cord injury who is living in his own home.

This support will enable the person with a disability to maintain a level of independence by providing a service that will assist him with everyday living tasks and achieving their person centred and therapy goals.

Successful applicants will be supported by a registered nurse to gain the necessary skills to provide this care in the community
A range of flexible duties are available.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
Assistance with Personal care tasks
Medication administration
Assistance with Therapy tasks
Use of Mobility equipment – e.g. hoist, wheelchair, shower chair
Light Domestic assistance
Meal preparation
Community participation – e.g. medical appointments, Shopping and/or social outings
SHIFT TIMES
Wednesdays & Thursdays 8am-12pm
Monday to Sunday 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Mondays to Sundays 6pm - 8pm

current drivers licence and reliable vehicle
As part of the application process, all successful applicants must receive a National Criminal History Clearance and need to obtain a Working with Children Clearance to commence working as a Support Worker.
