DESCRIPTION:
Disability Support Worker
Mossman QLD 4873
Southern Cross is seeking motivated, caring and committed individuals as Disability Support Workers to deliver care and support to 48-year-old-man with a traumatic brain injury who is living in his own home.

This support will enable the person to maintain a level of independence by providing a service that will assist him/her with everyday living tasks and achieving their person centred and therapy goals.

Support Workers will receive support to achieve the skills required to deliver individualised support to people with disabilities living in the community.

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE:
Duties vary depending on the Participant's needs but may include:

Assistance with Personal care tasks
Medication administration
Assistance with Therapy tasks
Light Domestic assistance
Meal preparation Community participation – e.g. medical appointments, Shopping and/or social outings

SERVICE DELIVERY TIMES
This new 24 hour program will require servies to be provided at specific times:

mornings
afternoons
nights
REQUIREMENTS

mobile phone
current drivers licence and reliable vehicle
As part of the engagement process, all successful applicants must receive a National Criminal History Clearance and need to obtain a Working with Children Clearance to commence working as a Support Worker.
