As a Direct Care Worker, you will assist in providing a direct client service to residents of the Residential Care Home within the Kangaroo Island Heath Service. Putting the resident at the centre of all that you do, the core focus of your role will include reporting and recording on general observations of individual clients, completing routine documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as identifying and providing diversional therapy needs of individuals and/or groups. Your duties will also include bed making, personal hygiene and grooming, maintenance of mobility/dexterity, cleaning of equipment, in addition to transportation of clients. You must hold a completed AQF Certificate III relevant to the position, combined with considerable experience in the provision of a direct care service in a health related environment, dealing with aged, frail or disabled persons. Bringing a solid background working collaboratively within a team environment, you will possess effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to relate to people from different cultures, backgrounds and circumstances. You will be well organised with excellent time management skills, with experience in exercising own judgment and initiative in the day to day execution of a position. Computer literate with proven proficiency in the use of computer packages such as Microsoft Office, you will have the ability to perform work of a general nature under supervision.

Appointment will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal History Check and compliant immunisation screening.
