Our client is the largest hand knitting and crafting yarn manufacturer in Australia. Based in Bendigo, they are well known for their Australian sourced, luxurious, natural products and extensive range.



About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a position with creative freedom. Travel to capital cities to pitch ideas to clients is part of the gig, so you must have a current drivers licence and the flexibility to travel.

Duties will include:

Liaising with overseas suppliers and large retail clients.
Researching current fashion trends and colours.
Creation of new products from concept to design.
Pairing design patterns with on trend colours and materials.
Preparing print briefs and look-books for clients.
Pitching ideas and products to clients.
Design of product packaging.

About you:

We are searching for the following qualities:

Flair for creativity.
Strong communication skills.
Self-motivated.
Love of textiles, particularly wool and yarn.
Have excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
Understanding of fabrics.
Strong multi-tasking skills.
Flexibility to increase hours during peak periods if required.
This role would suit someone with a degree or diploma in fashion design and/or a background in either graphic design, textiles, clothing design. Experience with InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator is a must.
