Job Summary: South Australia Position Overview The Business Development Consultant is responsible for developing relationships with industry and employers to assist with their recruitment needs. The Business Development Consultant sources suitable vacancies for our DMS and ESS job seekers with a focus on those that will lead to sustainable employment, and markets our job seekers to these vacancies.

have demonstrated the ability to show initiative, and professionally and ethically represent the organisation. You
must be a flexible, outcome focused individual possessing a can-do attitude. You must be able to demonstrate
efficient and effective strategies to positively assist job seekers back into the workforce by forming working
relationships with employers and meeting their recruitment needs and expectations.

Responsibilities:

The Business Development Consultant is responsible for:

Ensure all KPI’s are met, including targets, outcomes and claims

Work closely with Status Employment Consultants, matching and referring their job seekers to vacancies
and promoting each individual’s skills and abilities to employers

Work directly with jobseekers to determine their capabilities and market their skills and experience directly
to suitable employers and jobs

Facilitate job clubs at the allocated DES sites

Develop long term relationships with referring agencies (DHS & service providers), to maximise referrals to
DES across all service delivery areas

Liaise with employers and industry bodies by marketing employment services that ensure referrals to
service delivery programs

Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with employers

Carry out promotional activities to employers as required by Status

Promote traineeships and other employment and training services delivered by Status

Provide interview practice and assessment interviews for job seekers

Ensure that file case notes and all other documentation are in line with the minimum
Employment Services contractual standards

Conduct administrative activities consistent with Employment Services contractual requirements and Status
procedures

Promote Status, and maintaining a high profile and professional company image

Participate in professional development and training as required

Involvement and participation in Status meetings and functions as required

Other duties as directed

Qualifications:

Substantial industry or Employment Services experience in a relevant sales or recruitment role is essential

Key Skills/Attributes:

Able to build relationships with employers in order to source suitable vacancies

Able to effectively place job seekers into sustainable employment that leads to 13 & 26 week outcomes

Proven ability to implement innovative job seeker and employment outcome focussed strategies

Understanding of barriers to employment faced by job seekers, and the effects of unemployment

Excellent organisational skills

Advanced communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

Effective, positive problem solving and conflict resolution skills

A knowledge of local labour market trends and employment opportunities

An understanding of relevant legislation including Anti-discrimination, Equal Employment Opportunity,
Occupational Health and Safety, Privacy and Freedom of Information

Computer literate in Word, Internet & E-mail

An impeccable reputation for honesty, trustworthiness and fiduciary integrity

Desirable Skills/Attributes:

Experience working with special needs client groups such as people with a disability, non-English speaking
background, drug and alcohol dependency, homelessness, domestic violence and psychological disorders is desirable.

Additional Factors:

Driver’s license essential

Occasional attendance at meetings or training outside normal business hours

National Police Clearance prior to commencing employment

Working with Children Check
