Position Summary
The category manager role within Samsung is a hugely important role, pivotal in setting the strategic direction for the division.
This role is the single point of ownership for revenue, profitability and positioning within the category.
The ideal candidate first and foremost will demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and responsibility to ensure the financial and customer goals are met.
There are 4 key areas of responsibility
1. Understanding the customer and their experience: NPS, PTO, MPSA Customer service metrics
2. Operational Product Management: Supply chain management, financial forecasting, price and promotion
3. Category Management: strategic planning leveraging consumer insights, market trends and channel relationship
4. Achieve Goals: Work to achieve/exceed business goals such as MP revenue & profit
Role and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
Define your strategy by bringing Customer insights into the heart of your planning
Utilise NPS and other customer experience metrics to steer resource assignment and maximise our customer loyalty
Prepare the weekly AP2 Sell in Forecasts in consultation with the sales teams and customers forecasting
Determine the best pricing for each product considering various factors including competition, profitability, differentiation, branding, relativity and potential. This includes developing the margin structure along with making the necessary arguments / rationale to HQ for TP request. As part of this is a requirement to maintain a monthly price list for distribution and direct customers.
Input marketing direction Market size forecasting and guidance to sales teams
Review monthly attach results - analyse and track sku and account performance
Competitive Pricing analysis - Monthly
Keep abreast of the goals for your categories and take actions to maximise the results against these targets
Maximise achievement against MP revenue and profit targets
Achieve Sokbo and Sireng forecasts as close as possible to the 100~110%
Skills and Qualifications
Skills and Capabilities:
1-2 yrs. + in product management from IT or Telecommunications industries
Broad based technical knowledge of all accessory categories- Protection, Power, Connect and Audio
Identify market trends and capable to translate insights into strategic initiatives
