Job Details: The Defence Relocations and Housing Officer role is part of a dynamic service delivery environment within Estate and Infrastructure Group. Our dedicated team provides high quality assistance and customer service. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with a strong background in customer service, with the ability to build and maintain working relationships and be adaptable to change.

The Defence Relocations & Housing Officers provide assistance to customers within the South East Zone in the provision of housing and relocation benefits to Defence members in accordance with Defence policy and contractual obligations. The work is interesting and challenging and requires a high degree of problem solving, mediation, negotiation, dispute resolution and the ability to apply emotional intelligence to resolve moderate to complex issues and disputes.

We engage with a wide range of stakeholders internal and external to Defence, including Defence Housing Australia and Toll Transitions. The Defence Relocations and Housing Team aims to ensure that Defence are receiving value for money and members and their families experience high quality service from service providers. Defence Relocations & Housing Officers undertake a variety of administrative support in relation to debt management, records management and the application of related policies and procedures.

You must be able to demonstrate effective communication and listening skills and the ability to work in a team environment. You will be accountable for organising your workflow and making independent decisions relating to your area of responsibility. You will interpret and provide advice within the administration function based on policy and procedures. Undertake research and analysis. Conduct briefings and perform procedural, clerical and administrative support work to achieve results. You will be an integral part of an integrated Defence Relocations and Housing Team located on various Defence establishment throughout the South East Zone. You will be located either at Bandiana or Melbourne and at times be required to travel to other locations within the South East Zone.
