Job Details:
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Development
Researching trends and anticipating designs, colours and fabrications;
Liaising closely with Design Support and Sales teams to understand seasonality, market and customer demands;
Staying adept of products and direction across all Aus Labels’ brands, ensuring all development appeases the brand voice;
Pre-lining of seasonal collections and securing sign off from Sales teams and Design Support Manager to ensure colour palette and seasonality concerns are addressed;
Working closely with major customers to respond to briefs and develop product offerings that are appealing and suitable for both the brand voice and the customer;
Concepting, sketching, tech packing and developing all styles for SMU product;
Establishing timelines for development and communicating with Sales teams and wholesale customers as required;
Managing the development process through liaising with offshore suppliers and production team, whilst ensuring timelines are met;
Negotiating on development costs, overseeing development invoices and following up payments when required;
Working with Sales teams to set target retail prices, provide vendors with target prices and work with them at every stage of the production timeline to achieve the best possible outcome;
Working with Garment Tech throughout development process to ensure samples and production are fit correctly and to standard through to bulk production;
Sales
Working with global Sales teams to strategise to maximise the department’s potential and revenue;
Continuously monitoring sales performance, investigating trends and developing tactical sales plans to maximise sales performance;
Regularly reviewing financial results to ensure that sales/profitability targets and KPIs are met;
Signing off sample orders, with seasonality of regions in mind and coordinating sample allocation and distribution to sales teams;
Working with distributors and agents to understand their needs and their market requirements in order to offer them the best possible opportunity to grow the brand in their market through product offering and pricing strategy;

Alignment with AFL company policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Relevant tertiary qualification in Fashion or Textile Design.
Minimum of 3 years industry experience in Fashion Design.
Experience using design programs such as CAD, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign.
Mac literacy.
